BioTA: Biological Theory Alliance at the University of Minnesota
This is a design commissioned by a Universiy of Minnesota group, BioTA. It depicts a limit cycle attractor, drawing in animal and plant species native to Minnesota (small mouth bass Micropterus dolomieu, bluegill Lepomis macrochirus, long beech fern Phegopteris connectilis) and an omnipresent fungus (yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae). Theoretical work similarly attracts and forges connections among researchers with a diversity of questions and study organisms.
I designed this logo to work well in several color schemes as well as a single-color design for applications such as t-shirt printing.
